How much joy are you willing to be?

When I was young I had an exuberant joyful energy. Growing up, that changed by trying to fit in, be right, and be good. I gave up that joy and childlike wonder to become an adult. Did it still live in me?

I wondered...

Were we celebrated for our exuberance? Or were we told to be quiet, sit still

, grow up, and get serious? What about the joy, possibilities and wonder? What about being happy? Where'd it all go?

Recently I have been unveiling that joy, and requesting it grow. When did life become a series of items on a "to-do list" that there was never enough time for? When did we give up making joy a priority?

Let's look at priorities. Do we spend more time being joyful, or serious? Do we spend more energy in possibilities, or problems? Do we spend more time being happy and laughing, or worrying and stressing?

Do you remember being a child and having a sense of wonder and joy each day? It was something I forgot all about, until it resurfaced when I had children of my own. They would wake up so excited for each day, wondering what new adventures they would have! It was infectious! I loved being around that energy.

Desiring more joy, I tried hours of meditation over a span of 20 years. It was interesting that while my eyes were shut I would catch a glimpse of that joy, but when the meditation was over and I went out into the world, it soon dissipated. So I continued my search for more lasting change.

The tools of Access Consciousness have been extremely helpful in recovering my joy. I find that one of the simplest ways to bring it out is this Tool of the Month, simply repeating the mantra, "All of life comes to me with ease, joy and glory!

Tool: The Access mantra = All of life comes to me with ease, joy and glory!

Simply say this mantra 3 - 10 times in the morning, evening, or when you are experiencing a difficulty. Using this tool can change the energy in your life to greater ease, and joy, now and in the future. (Repeat several times until you sense a shift in the energy.)
